While many people tend to think that scientists are simply skeptical about such things, many are actually setting out to prove that such things exist. __V___ 4. Clergy and religious figures have always concluded that a soul or spirit exists in everyone. __AV___ 5. Some scientists believe that the human body is just flesh and blood with no possibility of life after death __V___ 6. However, scientists are divided with some scientists making strides to examine the foundation of many religious claims. . __AV___ 7. Some scientists believe the argument may be more complicated. __AV___ 8. Scientists are actively engaged in seeking what happens to our "consciousness" after week die. __PN___ 9. The concept of "consciousness" is similar to that of "soul" or "spirit" __D___ 10. Consciousness is the thought processes which occur after life has ceased within the body. __D___ 11. Many scholars have focused their expertise to identify the presence of consciousness after death by studying Near-Death experiences. __N___ 12. Several hospitals have agreed to participate in a study where people who have Near-Death experiences try to identify elements after their death has occurred. __P___ 13. With regards to the study, some hospitals simply ask questions of the 2% of those having NDEs, such as: What did you see? What did you feel? __N___ 14. Some hospitals have gone far enough to put special signs in hospital rooms which can only be visible from people floating above their own bodies. __N___ 15. With these signs, researchers hope that people who have Near-Death experiences will be able to see them and remember them. __PN___ 16. Such research may help to explain what happens after we die.
